Here’s a look at some of the topics covered during the show:

#DisneyKids: Galactic Whirls Delight Young Guests at Toy Story Land

Toy Story Land is a huge draw for everyone in the family. But Alien Swirling Saucers is especially appealing to the preschool set. There’s so much stimulation — bright colors, flashing lights, space-age music, and so much more. Make sure you look up, down and all around so you don’t miss the details. The first time I rode Alien Swirling Saucers I was so eager to take a spin, I walked right by the adorable toy robots who stand guard at the attraction entrance and just today I noticed the playful Cooties figures tucked away near the restrooms. There’s one thing you surely won’t miss — the 14-foot-tall Buzz Lightyear proudly positioned at the entry for awesome photo ops.

Guests enjoying Alien Swirling Saucers at Toy Story Land

As you pass through the Alien Swirling Saucers queue you wander into a galactic play set and board alien-guided rocket ships. From there, you gently twirl around Planet Pepperonia with an ominous claw looming overhead. A bonus for preschool families is the 32-inch height requirement, and although it spins and whirls, it’s perfect for young kids.

Celebrity Spotting: Mackenzie Foy, Star of “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” meets Mickey Mouse at Walt Disney World

Mackenzie Foy, who plays Clara in Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming holiday fantasy adventure Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms,” enjoyed her first ever visit to Walt Disney World this past weekend. During her visit, Mackenzie met Mickey Mouse and posed for photo in front of Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom then shrunk down to the size of a toy to enjoy some fun in Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

If MacKenzie Foy looks familiar you may remember her from her role of Renesmee Cullin in 2012’s “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” and the epic 2014 blockbuster “Intersteller.”

Catch the final trailer for Disney’s “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” here:

About the film:

All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key – a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.

See “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” at Disney Springs AMC 24 or a theater near you when it opens this Friday, Nov. 2.

If you hurry, you can still catch a preview of “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

Disney World VoluntEARS create canned food sculpture to benefit local food bank

If you’re in Orlando and happen to visit the Orlando Science Center this week, you’ll encounter the very fun art exhibit where thousands of canned food items are used to make larger-than-life sculptures. Since 2012, Disney’s VoluntEARS cast members have participated in the event and this year their sculpture is a recreation of the new Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Using more than 5,000 canned food items, Disney’s VoluntEARS have created an out-of-this-world sculpture that represents the three-eyed little green men from Pixar’s Toy Story movie franchise and the new “Alien Swirling Saucers” attraction inside the new Toy Story Land.

“If you’ve blasted off on Alien Swirling Saucers at Toy Story Land or know these little green aliens from the Disney/Pixar ‘Toy Story’ films, this creation shows the difference that ‘CAN’ be made for our neighbors,” said Mike Piatek, director of architecture and facilities engineering for Walt Disney World Resort. “As Disney architects and engineers, we love building things that create happiness. Hopefully our CANstruction sculpture will bring others some joy and inspire them to help the community too.”

canst

CANstruction Orlando is an annual competition hosted by Central Florida’s architectural and engineering community. This is the 25th year of the event.

Organizations throughout the community banded with Disney in this year’s event. These CANtastic food sculptures will be on display through Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Orlando Science Center. After the competition, the nonperishable food is donated to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

“Events like CANstruction generate awareness and make a positive impact for the individuals we serve throughout Central Florida, and for this support we are eternally gratefully,” said Dave Krepcho, President and CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. “The passion of Disney Cast Members and representatives of other groups educates, inspires and engages the entire community in creative ways to help us reach our vision of ending hunger.”

Walt Disney World Resort and its Cast Members have supported Second Harvest Food Bank for the past 26 years, including distributing unused, prepared food from restaurants and conventions through the Disney Harvest Program. Disney VoluntEARS have donated some 45,000 food items through the annual CANstruction Orlando events.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the event. It’s bound to raise awareness of an important cause and feed thousands of families.

Sneak Peek: Toy Story Land Friends to Dress Up For the Holidays

As we previously shared, Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will join in on the holiday fun this year by dressing up for the holidays with fun new seasonal decor. Today we’re happy to share a first look at what our “Toy Story” friends – Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear – will wear in Toy Story Land this holiday season.

Guests visiting during the holidays can expect to see Woody in a holiday vest adorned with a Christmas tree and presents, as well as a candy cane accessory for his holster. Jessie will also trade in her cowgirl vest for a red holiday vest trimmed in a peppermint pattern, while Buzz Lightyear will add a sparkly Santa hat to his out-of-this-world ensemble.

Check out the video above for a sneak peek at what our friends’ holiday outfits will look like – and don’t forget to check the My Disney Experience app on the day of your holiday visit for the latest character greeting times and locations.

In addition to holiday character greetings, guests visiting Toy Story Land beginning November 8, can enjoy the land’s new holiday decor, including including oversized cranberry-and-popcorn garland, a holiday card “selfie” of “Toy Story” pals, an oversized Hamm sugar cookie, Green Alien ornaments and more. The land’s attractions will also be plussed up for the season with new holiday audio or music: guests will hear sleigh bells ringing on Slinky Dog Dash, while Alien Swirling Saucers will offer two holiday tracks, plus themed lighting.

Giant Domino Maze built at Walt Disney World to celebrate Toy Story Land – Great Video

Toy Story Land opened earlier this year bringing toys to life and giving guests a toy sized perspective of big fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. To celebrate, Walt Disney World invited a Domino chain-reaction maze artist to build a basketball court sized colorful domino maze involving more than 30,000 intricately placed pieces and then knock it all down. The result is a fantastic video that encourages park guests to play big when they visit the new park.

Designed by 19-year-old professional domino artist, Lily Hevesh and built freehand with the help of Disney Cast Members, the larger than life topple was put into action by the iconic Pixar ball and starred Toy Story characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Slinky Dog and the beloved Space Aliens, along with classic toys such as a Crayola Markers and Etch-A-Sketches. The mesmerizing topple also featured an array of complex tricks and unique chain reactions, resulting in one amazing video.

Here are the fun facts behind Disney’s fun domino topple:

  • 5 people worked on the project
  • 175 hours spent were constructing the intricate domino display (for 5 days total!)
  • It took 220 seconds for the dominoes to come toppling down
  • The build covered 768 square feet covered for the domino build at ESPN Wide World of Sports complex
  • Exactly 32,000 total dominoes were used in the stunt

If you loved this domino topple video, be sure to checkout more builds from Hevesh.

Have you been to Toy Story Land yet? What was your experience like?

Disney’s Hollywood Studios lines up incredible entertainment for 2019

2019 is going to be a momentous year for Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We talked the other day about all the new attractions coming to the park, including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, today we learn more about some of the new entertainment options coming to Disney’s studios park.

Following up on 2018’s Toy Story Land, an 11-acre immersive land dedicated to Pixar Animation Studios’ Toy Story films, 2019 will see even more Pixar pals join their friends in the park.

Beginning Jan. 18, 2019 the former Pixar Place will transform into a Municiberg city block from Pixar’s Incredibles films. Guests will meet super suit designer Edna Mode and see some of her greatest creations. They will look for clues to the whereabouts of the youngest Incredible, the mischievous and multi-powered Jack-Jack. And at the end of the block, guests will celebrate the heroic deeds of Mr. Incredible, Mrs. Incredible and Frozone, who will make appearances throughout the day during a party featuring lively music, dancing, interactive games and lots more Super fun.

Also starting Jan. 18, two popular guest favorites return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios when a door to the monster world opens inside Walt Disney Presents, welcoming Mike and Sulley from Pixar’s Monsters, Inc.

And then in spring 2019, Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy will speed into Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This new show experience will welcome guests to the world of Pixar’s Cars films, bringing them face to face with racing legend Lightning McQueen. The photo opportunity with Cruz Ramirez that used to reside on Pixar Place will be moved to the front of Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy.

Yes, this new entertainment is replacing some dear departing entertainment, including cutbacks in the Citizens of Hollywood, but it’s good for Disney to strike at the Incredibles fire while it’s hot.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary May 1 and while its name may be remaining the same, the park is transforming into a place where guests experience their own adventures in the immersive worlds of their cinematic imaginations. With the addition of the Star Wars themed land and attractions, attendance will likely double. Disney’s Hollywood Studios is going to need a lot of options to entertain guests who can’t make it into the land due to crowds.

This new entertainment is likely temporary in nature as the park evolves its entertainment mix to work with the new theme and recent expansions. Will you be paying a visit to your favorite Pixar Pals on your next visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios?

#DisneyFamilia: Tips for a Great Visit to Walt Disney World Resort con tus Pequeñitos

We all know that vacationing with toddlers can be un poquito aterrador. And I’m sure you’ve heard that there’s no perfect age to visit Walt Disney World Resort, y es cierto! At Disney theme parks there’s something for every age, and we’re going to help you plan that perfect trip with these quick tips to make your vacation inolvidable.

Tips for a great visit to Walt Disney World Resort

1. Plan Ahead
¡Rutina, rutina, rutina! If you have a pequeñito at home, you know that having a schedule is one of the most helpful tools. My Disney Experience App on your smart phone is a great tool to make the most out of your trip while keeping your toddler feliz and on schedule. The app will help keep the locations of those important places handy. Need to run to a restroom? Done! Check attraction wait times, show times, and the closest eateries for those last minute snacks.

2. Create a Wish List
A list of your toddlers’ favorite characters, rides, or activities is a great way to make the most out of your visit. Select activities that are at the same location or close to each other to avoid long walks.

3. Family Time
Traveling with toddlers means everyone will enjoy shows and attractions where the adult may feel a bit too tall, pero no importa! Select those attractions where toda la familia can hop on, like Mad Tea Party, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Dumbo the Flying Elephant at Magic Kingdom, and of course, Alien Swirling Saucers at the newly opened Toy Story Land!

4. Cool Down
While outdoors activities are always an excellent recommendation, a fun indoor attraction can help you and your toddler stay cool while todos se divierten. Disney Junior – Live on Stage at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has all the dancing and singing your toddler needs. The classic and colorful “it’s a small world” attraction at Magic Kingdom would have your toddler singing por muchos días! The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot is an ideal combination of exhibits and rides perfect for that edad pre-escolar.

5. Nap Time?
Nothing better than enjoying a nap after a busy day of playing in the sun, verdad? Not all toddlers will agree with that, but after splashing and running around at the Casey Jr. Splash ‘N’ Soak Station at Magic Kingdom, that nap would be welcomed! Ketchakiddee Creek at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is another must-visit attraction to enjoy with 10 different aquatic activities perfectas para tus pequeñitos!
