Surprise! #ShareYourEars Continues Through November 27!

EARS to you!

Yes, you! On behalf of The Walt Disney Company and Make-A-Wish®, thank you for showing off, posting and hashtagging your EAR-resistable “Mickey Mouse ears” and creative “ears” photos as part of this year’s #ShareYourEars campaign! Your incredible photos will help Make-A-Wish grant life-changing wishes for kids with critical illnesses around the world.

We are having fun watching the original and creative ways you’re sharing your Mickey-inspired ears in honor of Mickey’s 90th. So much fun in fact, that to keep Mickey’s 90th celebration going, Disney has added a second phase to the #ShareYourEars campaign!

“In 2018, we’ve taken our collaboration with Make-A-Wish to a new level. This year’s #ShareYourEars Campaign is our biggest, yet. This year, we’re giving up to $3 million – our largest donation, ever,” said Bob Chapek, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products.

From November 18 through Giving Tuesday on November 27, 2018, take a photo showing off your “Mickey Mouse ears” – or any creative “ears” – and upload it to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. For every public post with #ShareYourEars, Disney will donate US $5 to Make-A-Wish, up to US $1 million – for a total goal of US $3M – to grant even more wishes.

Don’t own a pair of Mickey ears? No problem! Get crafty and try two bagels, tennis balls or even plates as ears. If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort or Disneyland Paris, try to find all of the #ShareYourEars mural walls, exclusively designed for the campaign by Walt Disney Imagineering. Whether in your home or in front of Cinderella Castle, it’s never been easier to show your support, celebrate Mickey’s birthday and #ShareYourEars!

So grab your friends and family, post a picture of your finest pair of “ears” to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #ShareYourEars and spread some chEAR!

Disney Ambassador Program Celebrates Rich Legacy with Incoming 2019-2020 Team

For more than 50 years, Disney Ambassadors have served as emissaries of goodwill for the Disney destinations they represent. Walt Disney, himself, created the program in 1965, naming the inaugural Disney Ambassador, Julie Reihm, who helped him by making appearances, giving speeches, escorting dignitaries and more.

Julie’s role set the standard for future decades of the Disney Ambassador program, which has grown to include a whole new world of Disney properties, including six resorts and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.

Allow us to introduce the 11 Disney Ambassadors you’ll soon meet at each of our locations, starting on January 1:

Infographic - Global Disney Ambassador Team - 2019-2020

Their immersive training lasts through the end of this year and consists of site tours, global business overviews, media training, and a deep-dive into Disney’s most engaging experiences. They’ll represent our approximately 150,000 cast members, crew members and Imagineers across the globe.

Earlier this week, the incoming class of Disney Ambassadors visited California as part of their training. They were even treated to a little movie magic with a tour of the Studio Lot and a meeting with Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products.

In keeping with Walt’s vision, the Disney Ambassador program keeps moving forward, which is why their responsibilities cover a colorful spectrum of magic and memory-making both in the parks and beyond.

Please join us as we give a warm welcome to the 2019-2020 Disney Ambassadors!

Limited-Time Mickey Dessert by Chef Pierre Hermé Coming to Disneyland Paris

To celebrate 90 years of magic with Mickey Mouse, Disneyland Paris teamed up with world-renowned French pastry chef Pierre Hermé to create a limited-time, one-of-a-kind dessert inspired by the world’s most beloved mouse!

Chef Pâtissier Pierre Hermé – named the “Picasso of Patisserie” by Vogue Magazine – worked his culinary magic to create a symphony of citrus and zest that practically sings “Be Our Guest.” Taking inspiration from Mickey’s energy and enthusiasm, Chef Hermé translated those qualities into a tangy yet sweet marriage of fresh, fruity tastes.

'Mickey Zest Party' Dessert Created by Chef Pierre Hermé

The result is “Mickey Zest Party,” Chef Hermé’s personal take on the famous lemon meringue tart, with a shortbread base in the shape of Mickey’s iconic ears, a lemon filling with preserved lemon zest and pieces of fluffy lime-flavored meringue finished off with two chocolate circles of dark chocolate and strawberry puree.

This practically perfect patisserie will be available at Walt’s – An American Restaurant in Disneyland Park and at California Grill in the Disneyland Hotel from November 17 through January 6.

Bon appétit and bravo Chef Hermé!

Salma Hayek Enjoys A Wickedly Wonderful Halloween at Disneyland Paris

A familiar face was spotted at Disneyland Paris! Actress Salma Hayek stopped by the park recently to enjoy the seasonal festivities and celebrate 90 years of magic with Mickey.

Salma Hayek at Disneyland Paris

In Frontierland, both Mickey and Minnie struck a pose for her in their colorful Mexican costumes and performed a few dance steps together, followed by an encounter with Miguel, the star of the Disney Pixar film “Coco,” at Fuente del Oro Restaurante near Big Thunder Mountain.

And of course, what’s a visit to Disneyland Paris without a parade? Salma had the chance to see the brand-new float designed especially to celebrate Mickey’s birthday during the Halloween Cavalcade along the streets of Disneyland Park.

There’s so much to do and see at Disneyland Paris during Disney’s Halloween Festival: A Spooky Mouse Skelebration, now until November 4! For more details, check out our blog post on all things Halloween at international Disney Parks.

Have fun meeting your favorite Star Wars Characters
For the first time, guests will be able to meet Star Wars favorite, Chewbacca, a true Legend of the Resistance, at Walt Disney Studios Park. A rare encounter with the Wookiee that’s sure to be an epic experience.

Meanwhile, squads of stormtroopers will patrol Production Courtyard in search of allies of the Resistance.

The Star Wars legend will also take place at Disneyland Park, where the more adventurous will be able to confront Darth Vader and brave the power of the dark side at Starport, just near the attraction Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
Fearless voyagers will be able to experience an intergalactic adventure aboard StarSpeeder 1000, as they head for some of the most iconic planets featured in the Star Wars saga. One thing is certain – this 3D experience will delight the galaxy’s most passionate fans.

Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain
For guests who love thrills, they can jump on board an X-wing and join the Resistance on an epic expedition packed with excitement, as they find themselves at the very heart of the famous battle of Jakku, fighting the Galactic Empire. An unforgettable experience to the sound of the epic saga’s legendary music.

While it’s missing a few of the fun parts about Star Wars Weekends, Legends of the Force delivers a lot of what Star Wars fans love to experience.

Dining at Walt’s – Disneyland Paris

When you think of what Disney’s theme parks are known for, fine dining is not normally near the top of the list, but for a park located just outside Paris, France an elevated dining experience is required. Walt’s is arguably the nicest restaurant inside Disneyland Paris; you can think of it as equivalent of Club 33, but without the costly yearly membership.

The Disney Blog had the opportunity to tour and experiencing a meal at a recent media event and came away very impressed. Walt’s is a unique experience for many Disney theme park fans. There’s something special just dining on the second floor of Main Street USA. Add to that, the restaurant decorations that tell the the story of the life and work of Walt Disney himself, and you have a must-do for any Disney fan visiting Paris Disneyland.

The experience begins in the ground floor lobby where the story of Walt and Lillian is retold through decor and photographs. Like the iconic private Club 33 at Disneyland, guests at Walt’s then ascend to the dining room via a beautiful staircase.

Each of the six dining rooms represent a different theme: Fantasyland, Adventureland, Discoveryland, Disneyland Hotel, Grand Canyon, and Frontierland. The walls of each room are lined with concept art from some of Disney’s most iconic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Thunder Mountain. (click to embiggen, as always)

As you might expect in a themepark located in France, the food at Walt’s is another attraction. Some of the dishes were inspired by Walt’s favorite food, but there’s also a desire to innovate and provide guests a unique dining experience.

In addition to a regular menu, Walt’s offers a Premium Menu where you have a choice of 3 courses for about 60 euros. Our our visit as invited media, we were treated to a selection of dishes from this menu. As you can see from the gallery below they all looked amazing and tasted great as well. (click to embiggen, as always)

Walt’s is one of the most popular restaurants inside Disneyland Paris, so advanced reservations are recommended and can be made up to 2 months prior to your arrival date.

Neymar Kicks Off World’s Biggest Mouse Party at Disneyland Paris

Paris Saint Germain soccer star Neymar undoubtedly knows how to perform a kick-off on the field as well as in the park — Disneyland Park that is.

A day after leading his team to a victory over the OGC Nice team, Neymar and his girlfriend Bruna Marquezine joined Mickey Mouse in Disneyland Paris to – you guessed it – kick off the World’s Biggest Mouse Party, a tribute to the iconic mouse celebrating 90 years of Mickey magic.

Neymar and Bruna Marquezine joined Mickey Mouse at Disneyland Paris

Neymar and Marquezine met up with Mickey in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle for a few photos before savoring “une belle journée” (a beautiful day) in the park. The couple enjoyed a romantic stroll down Main Street U.S.A. and experienced perhaps Disneyland Paris’ most Parisian attraction, Ratatouille: The Adventure.

Guests can now discover all-new, unforgettable ways to celebrate 90 years of Mickey at Disneyland Paris. Go on an adventure with Mickey and Donald in the new 4D experience “Mickey and his PhilharMagique Orchestra” at the Discoveryland Theater, or take a cue from Neymar and Marquezine and stroll through the park while admiring specially themed birthday cakes in each of Disneyland Park’s five lands.

It’s time to celebrate the Big Cheese at Disney Parks around the world!
